Join us at 12:15 pm on Monday December 8th for this lunchtime concert at Trinity College Chapel. Linda Falvy will be singing Medieval Songs spanning the European Continent; Gregorian Chant, Hildegard, Perotin and of course "Anonymous". This performance is part of Trinity College Chapel's Monday Music series and is free to the general public.

Pilgrims and Travellers June 21, 2014
















The pilgrimage was an important part of medieval Christianity, a physical journey towards a spiritual goal. We will explore this through the music of the Cantigas de Santa Maria, Galician devotional songs in praise of Mary and narratives of the miracles of Mary; the Llibre Vermell de Montserrat, compiled and located in the monastery of Montserrat which was a major site of pilgrimage during the time of its compilation; and the music of the Codex Calixtinus, a guide for medieval pilgrims containing music that would have been performed at the shrine dedicated to the Apostle Saint James the Great at the end of one of the most famous pilgrimage routes, El Camino de Santiago de Compostela.

Journey into a Medieval Christmas

Vocem Resurgentis is pleased to be presenting Journey into a Medieval Christmas performed by Linda Falvy (soprano), Mary Enid Haines (soprano), and Catherine McCormack (alto).

Journey into a Medieval Christmas will take you through Western Europe from Finland, to Germany and Spain with music from the Finnish song treasury Piae Cantiones; Hildegard von Bingen; and Las Huelgas and Llibre Vermelle. Enjoy this rare opportunity to experience the rich and harmonious sounds of these three voices as they take you back in time to Medieval Europe. 


The first performance of the season will be in Dundas, Ontario on November 30th, 8 pm at St. James Anglican Church and will be followed with a Toronto performance on Saturday December 7th, 8 pm at The Church of St. Mary Magdalene.
